My old friend Dusty
I managed to load the photo I mentioned the other day. This is Dusty, she was Quarterhorse crossed with an Arabian.

Couldn't ask for a kinder natured animal. Mind you though, she bucked me off once. She sure chose a good time to do it too. Right in the middle of a western riding show ring.

The man who was buying her watched as my faithful horse flung me in the dust. I must've looked a right sight to.

I was 4 months pregnant at the time. Just as well I landed on my rump.

Guess Dusty didn't like the feel of the curb bit in her mouth.
mmm? I wonder if she knew she was being sold?

Nah, she couldn't have... could she?

Oh, she was sold? Or did you not get the sale because she bucked you? Wow, pregnant and thrown. Yikes! But she is/was? a beautiful horse!

godwyn, yes, Dusty was a beautiful creation and I thank God for horses.

m.c., Yes, Dusty did sell. The man believed the truth when I told him that that was the first time she had done anything like that. See, at the show, I used a bit in Dusty's mouth that she wasn't used to and it upset her.

audrey, thank you. That was a long time ago.

They are amazing animals eh. So stunning! Are there any particular breeds you don't like so much, and what is your favourite? Have you ever seen Kevin Costners version of Robin Hood? I love those heaver type of horses. Not built for speed, but pure strength and beauty! To me they are bigger versions of the Andalusian which I love the appearance of, but are too small for my liking. I love Irish Hunters too, and Hanoverians. When we lived in England, we went to the Birmingham Event Centre and saw the Andalusian show they put on there. Like the Lippizaner school in Vienna, you know? That was cool.

I just pasted the whole email in here so you would know what I was referring to. How many children do you have, and what ages? I have one, she is 11 and a sweetheart. A really lovely age.

wow. It is so good to see a fellow horse lover and what a difference you have made to this horse.

My first job when I left school was breaking in and exercising horses way up north on Mangawhai beach.
